For Halloween, McDonald’s Boo Buckets are returning

In preparation for Halloween, McDonald’s is reintroducing the Boo Buckets!

Last year, the fast-food giant offered Happy Meals in these spooky pails, which also double as containers for trick-or-treat candy. This marked their first appearance since 2016. These decorative plastic buckets were first sold by McDonald’s in 1986 and have been brought back intermittently.

This time, there are four distinct designs: Monster, Skeleton, Mummy, and Vampire (making a comeback for the first time since their original release in 1986).

Here’s how you can acquire a McDonald’s Boo Bucket:

Starting October 17, McDonald’s will launch the special Boo Bucket Halloween Happy Meals at participating U.S. restaurants, available until October 31 or while supplies last. You can order them by placing a Happy Meal order either in the restaurant or through the app. Happy Meals offer three different entrée options: hamburger (with the option to add cheese), 4-piece, or 6-piece Chicken McNuggets meals, each accompanied by a side of fries or apple slices and a drink.

Boo Bucket prices may vary by location, as they are determined by individual restaurants. Typically, Happy Meals range from $4 to $7, so the Boo Bucket is expected to be in a similar price range. There will be no extra charge for the buckets, as they will replace the typical toy that comes with a Happy Meal.

What colors are the Boo Buckets available in?

Last year, McDonald’s offered buckets in white (McBoo), orange (McPunk’n), and green (McGoblin). This year, they are introducing an additional purple vampire-themed bucket. To add to the fun, every Boo Bucket will feature a paperboard lid with an entertaining sticker activity.
